In line with our mission statement, SREC provides a variety of services to support community cohesion and integration and eliminate discrimination.
We are able to offer support, advice and training to local communities, education establishments, businesses, organisations, associations and individuals.
All of our services to individuals who live and/or work in Sutton are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL (we may charge to deliver services to corporate agencies - please contact us for more information).
1. Developing the capacity and sustainability of community based minority ethnic organisations and social enterprises

2. Specialist Victim Support
SREC staff are trained and have a wealth of experience in advising and supporting individuals and households who are experiencing racial harassment, abuse or have been the victims of hate crime.
3. BME Voice in Sutton
SREC works with partners to cascade organisational messages to the Sutton residents from ethnic minority communities. Equally as important is our work to ensure that residents messages, comments and concerns are heard by key agencies who deliver services in Sutton.
4. Advice and Assistance to Individuals Alleging Discrimination
SREC staff are able to offer advice, assistance and advocacy to individuals experiencing discrimination in education, employment or service delivery.
5. Representation
Through representation on a number of local committees and forum, SREC seeks to encourage local people to develop appropriate skills to influence change and facilitate the sharing of best practice. At present SREC holds a seat/attends a number of local committees and forums or supports other individuals to fulfil these roles. These include:
* Sutton Partnership - the borough's local strategic partnership. The Partnership brings together many local groups and businesses to create and deliver exciting new strategies to boost economic growth and improve our overall quality of life. In addition there are six Themed Partnerships tasked with leading on one or more of the eight priorities which the partnership has identified through consultation with the community. SREC holds a seat on four of these:

Community Engagement Partnership - one of Sutton Partnership's six Themed Partnerships, responsible for the priority of developing active and inclusive communities.

Children & Young People Partnership - one of Sutton Partnership's six Themed Partnerships, responsible for the priority of investing in children and young people.

Safer Sutton Partnership - one of Sutton Partnership's six Themed Partnerships, responsible for the priority of creating safer communities.

Sutton Adults Partnership - one of Sutton Partnership's six Themed Partnerships, responsible for our priorities of improving health and well-being and valuing older people.
* Sutton Women's Forum - One of the groups which feeds into the wider working of the Sutton Partnership.
* Police and Community Forum - A forum of local residents, community groups and associations that acts in a consultative and scrutiny capacity with regards to our borough police service.
* Equality and Diversity Forum - A forum made up of representatives from the statutory, voluntary and community sector that work for or are involved in matters relating to Equality and Diversity in Sutton.
* Voluntary Sector Forum – Hosted by Sutton CVS this forum enables the Voluntary Sector organisations to come together to share best practice and debate and strategise for key issues affecting the sector.
